Which License Do I Need for 2Do for Web?

2Do for Web is included at no extra charge with 2Do for Mac. You qualify with any of these:

  • A license from our store with active update coverage.
  • An active 2Do for Mac subscription from the Mac App Store.
  • An active Setapp subscription that includes 2Do for Mac.

There is no separate Web purchase or Web subscription.

What If I Don't Own a Mac?

You can purchase a Mac license from our store to obtain Web access on Windows, Linux, a Chromebook, or mobile. You do not need to install or activate the Mac app to validate that direct license in the browser.

Before using Web, set up iCloud sync in 2Do on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android device and let it sync once. The web app opens that existing 2Do workspace. Android's full-featured trial includes sync and can complete this initial setup.

You can create a free Apple Account from Android and use it on both Android and Web. See Set Up Sync.

How Do Direct Purchases Work?

A direct Mac purchase includes 18 months of updates. Web access is included while that update coverage is active. Renew the Mac license to extend coverage and keep Web access. Enter your direct Mac license key when the web app asks for it.

What About Mac App Store and Setapp?

Web access is included for active Mac App Store subscribers to 2Do for Mac and active Setapp subscribers whose plan includes 2Do for Mac. You do not need to buy a second Mac license from our store or pay a separate Web subscription.

Open your subscribed copy of 2Do for Mac while connected to the internet. The Mac app confirms your subscription with our licensing server and grants Web access for 30 days. Each time you launch the Mac app and the check succeeds, a new 30-day period begins.

Launch the Mac app online at least once every 30 days to maintain Web access. This launch requirement applies to Mac App Store and Setapp subscriptions. Direct licenses are checked in the browser and do not require a Mac installation.

What Happens When Coverage or a Subscription Ends?

For a direct purchase, Web access pauses when update coverage ends. Renew the Mac license to continue. Your direct Mac license remains perpetual, so you can still use the last Mac version covered by it.

For Mac App Store or Setapp, the Mac app can refresh Web access while the qualifying subscription is active. If the subscription ends, or the Mac app cannot complete a refresh, Web access lasts until the existing 30-day grant expires. Renew the subscription if needed, then open the Mac app online to refresh access.

Your tasks remain in iCloud. The end of Web access does not delete them.

What If a Firewall, Proxy, or VPN Blocks the Check?

Allow HTTPS connections from 2Do for Mac to register.2doapp.com in your firewall, proxy, VPN, or a network filter such as Little Snitch. Then open the Mac app online again.

If this connection is blocked, the Mac app cannot issue or refresh Web access for subscribers. Only the licensing information and identifiers needed to grant access are sent. Your tasks, notes, and attachments are not part of this check. See our privacy policy.

Do iPhone, iPad, or Android Purchases Include Web?

An iPhone, iPad, or Android purchase alone does not include Web access. Web is included with the qualifying Mac purchases and subscriptions listed above.

See Licensing Explained for the full purchase and renewal terms.
