2Do isn't syncing in the background

Common causes:

  • You force-quit 2Do. If you have a habit of force quitting apps, or use apps that force quit others to "clean memory", 2Do cannot sync in the background at all.
  • Background App Refresh is off. Turn it on under iOS Settings > General > Background App Refresh > 2Do.
  • Sync automatically or Push Sync is off. Both live in 2Do's Settings > Sync. Sync automatically allows sync without you asking, and Push Sync lets the service wake 2Do when something changes on another device.
  • You're on a poor connection. iOS may delay refresh cycles.
  • Heavy data load. Large changes over slow networks can take longer than a background cycle allows.

iOS decides when apps get background time, so background sync is regular rather than instant. If it feels stale, pull down on the task list to sync straight away. On Android, also check Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization → 2Do → Don't Optimize, and any OEM-specific "auto-start" or "background activity" toggle for 2Do.
