Widgets

Put a task list or an unfinished-task count on your Android home screen. List widgets let you open tasks, mark them complete, and add a task without first opening the main 2Do screen.

Available Widgets

• Task List shows a regular list, Focus List, or Smart List.
• Transparent Task List offers the same controls with a transparent background.
• 2Do Undone Counter shows a compact count from a fixed set of presets.

Each list widget keeps its own selected list. You can add several widgets for different lists.

Adding a Widget

1. Touch and hold an empty part of the home screen.
2. Open Widgets using your launcher's controls.
3. Find 2Do and drag the widget you want onto the home screen.
4. Choose its list or counter preset when 2Do asks.

The exact home-screen gesture varies by launcher. Task List widgets can be resized horizontally and vertically where the launcher supports it.

Widget Settings

In either list widget:

• Tap the list title to choose a different list.
• Tap + to open a new task in the editor.
• Tap a task to open it in 2Do.
• Tap its checkbox to mark it complete.
• Tap the 2Do icon to open the list in the app.

The widget follows the selected list's sort and Focus settings. For a specific set of tasks, create a Smart List and select it for the widget.

If the selected list is deleted, hidden, or archived, the widget falls back to All. Tap its title to choose a different list.

The counter's Choose Preset screen offers All, Overdue, Today, Today & Tomorrow, Hi-Priority, Starred, Next 3 Days, and Next Week. It does not choose an arbitrary saved list. Add another counter widget to choose a different preset.

Quick Settings Tile

The Quick Add tile opens a separate capture window from Android's Quick Settings panel:

1. Pull down from the top of the screen to expand Quick Settings.
2. Use the edit or pencil button.
3. Add 2Do's Quick Add tile to your active tiles.
4. Tap it to open Quick Add. Android asks you to unlock the device first when needed.

Refresh and Sync

2Do refreshes widgets after task changes, sync, and scheduled updates. Android controls when background work runs, so a widget may take time to catch up.

If a widget looks stale, open 2Do and check that the tasks are current there. For changes from another device, let sync finish. If background updates remain delayed, check the battery settings described in Notifications and Alarms.

Protected Lists

Open Settings > Password protect lists > Widgets & Notifications to choose whether protected tasks may appear outside the app.

With access off, list widgets respect locked lists. If Lock everything is on, the list widget is blocked. A widget pointed at an individually locked list can switch to All instead.

The counter widget displays a count, not task titles. Treat counts as visible home-screen information and remove that widget if even a count is private.
