Password Protection

Some tasks are nobody else's business. 2Do for Android lets you protect selected lists with a password and decide whether protected tasks can appear in widgets and notifications.

Setting a Passcode

Open Settings > Privacy > Password protect lists and use Set Password. After a password is set, this screen also lets you change it and choose which lists are protected.

Protected Lists

Open Settings > Privacy > Password protect lists > Protected lists and select the lists you want to protect.

Protected lists stay hidden from the main app areas until you unlock them. This includes Focus Lists and Smart Lists, so private tasks do not accidentally appear in shared views.

Widgets and Notifications

Use Widgets & Notifications to decide whether protected tasks are allowed to appear in home-screen widgets and the notification area.

tip

If you use protected lists for sensitive work, leave widget and notification access off. If you mainly use protection to keep the app tidy, you may prefer to allow widgets and notifications.

Require Password

Use Require password to choose how quickly 2Do should ask again after you unlock protected content:

  • Immediately
  • After 1 minute
  • After 3 minutes
  • After 5 minutes
  • After 10 minutes

Hidden and Archived Lists

The main Privacy settings screen also includes Hidden lists and Archived lists. These are separate from password protection:

  • Hidden lists stay out of the navigation drawer until you show them again.
  • Archived lists and their tasks stay hidden from all areas of the app except Smart Lists and the Done Focus List.

Pair password protection with regular Backups, especially before changing devices or sync methods.
