Password Protection

Use a passcode to protect selected lists or require an unlock before opening 2Do. You can also choose what home-screen widgets and notifications are allowed to show.

Setting a Passcode

1. Open Settings > Password protect lists under Privacy.
2. Turn on Passcode.
3. Enter a four-digit code, then enter it again to confirm.

Use Change Passcode to replace it. Turn Passcode off to remove protection; 2Do asks you to authenticate first.

Where supported and set up on the device, the unlock screen can also offer biometric authentication. Keep your passcode available as the other way to unlock.

Protected Lists

Open Protected lists on the same screen, authenticate when asked, and select the lists you want to protect.

Tasks in locked lists stay hidden from other task views, including Focus Lists and Smart Lists, until you unlock them. Open a protected list and authenticate to view its contents.

Locking the Whole App

In Protected lists, turn on Lock everything to require an unlock for the whole app. Turn it off to return to protecting just the lists you selected.

Whole-app protection also affects list widgets. Review the next setting before placing private information on your home screen.

Widgets and Notifications

Widgets & Notifications allows protected task content to appear outside the app when it is on. Changing it can require authentication.

Turn it off when you do not want protected task details shown outside the app. When 2Do hides a locked task's details, its notification can show Private Task instead. If Lock everything is on, list widgets are blocked while external access is off.

Counter widgets show a task count rather than titles. Remove a counter from the home screen if that count is sensitive. Also check Android's lock-screen notification settings, which are separate from 2Do's passcode settings.

Require Password

Require password chooses how soon protected lists and the app lock again after you leave 2Do:

• Immediately
• After 1 minute
• After 3 minutes
• After 5 minutes
• After 10 minutes

Choose Immediately when you do not want a grace period after switching to another app.

Hidden and Archived Lists

These settings also appear under Privacy, but serve different purposes:

• Hidden lists changes which lists appear in the lists panel. It does not set a passcode or hide their tasks from every other view.
• Archived lists manages lists you have archived. Archived lists and their tasks stay out of most areas, but can still appear in Smart Lists and the Done Focus List.

Backups and Exported Data

Passcode protection controls access inside 2Do. A backup or exported file can contain protected-list data, so keep those files in a private location and share them only with people you intend to receive them.

Keep a recent backup outside the app before changing devices or removing 2Do. Removing the app also removes data and backups held in its app storage.
