Focus Lists — All, Today, Starred, Scheduled, Done, Inbox

At the top of the navigation drawer sits a fixed cluster of Focus Lists — All, Today, Starred, Scheduled, Done, Inbox. They are not real lists; they're built-in saved perspectives that pull tasks from across your real lists.

Inbox​

The Inbox is your GTD inbox — the place where new, un-triaged tasks land. Tasks from Quick Add, Android share-sheet capture, selected text, launcher shortcuts, and the Quick Settings tile can all land here depending on your default list settings. Aim to keep it empty at the end of each review session.

All​

All shows every task across every list. By default it includes everything except:

  • Tasks in lists you've Excluded from All (see below).
  • Tasks hidden by a paused tag (see Tags — Pausing a Tag).

Tasks scheduled to start in the future are hidden by default — toggle the clock icon on the sort bar to reveal them.

Excluding a List from All​

Long-press the list in the drawer → Edit List → toggle Exclude from All. A small i icon appears next to the list name once any exclusion is on.

Today​

A task lands in Today if any of these are true:

  • It is due today (with or without a due time).
  • Include overdue tasks is enabled in Settings > Appearance — past-due tasks carry forward to Today until completed.
  • Always show Still Working On is enabled in Settings > Appearance and the task has a start date in the past or today.
  • It has a duration whose lead-up window or effective start time covers today.
  • Include Starred Tasks is enabled in Settings > Appearance.

Excluding a List from Today​

Long-press list → Edit List → toggle Exclude from Today.

Why Tasks Show Up "Mysteriously"​

Most often: a duration creating an earlier working window, Always show Still Working On, or Include Starred Tasks on. See the FAQ Why are tasks due tomorrow showing in the Today Focus list?.

Starred​

Starred collects every starred task. Use the long-press menu or task-row actions to star or unstar tasks. See Stars and Priorities for when to use stars vs. priorities.

Scheduled​

Scheduled shows tasks with a future start date that are currently hidden from the regular list by Smart Scheduling.

Done​

Done collects completed tasks. Long-press list → Edit List → toggle Exclude from Done to keep a noisy completion history out of this view (handy for shopping / scratch lists).

Sync Exclusion​

Edit List → toggle Exclude from Sync to keep a list local to this device.

Indicators​

A small i icon appears next to the list name in the drawer once any global-visibility option is customised.
