Quick Open

Use Quick Open to find a task or list anywhere in 2Do. Type part of its name, then tap a result to go there.

Opening Quick Open

Tap the list name at the top of the task list. With a hardware keyboard, press Ctrl+Shift+O or ⌘⇧O.

Leave batch editing first. Inside a project or checklist, tapping the title goes back to the list instead.

Finding a Task or List

Type part of a task title or list name. Results appear in separate task and list groups. Continue typing to narrow them down, then tap a result.

Quick Open searches unfinished tasks, including projects, checklists, and sub-tasks. Paused or scheduled tasks can appear even when hidden from your current task view. Hidden, archived, and locked lists are excluded.

With the field empty, Quick Open shows recently changed tasks and recently visited lists.

Opening a Result

Choosing a list opens it. Choosing a task reveals it in your current view when possible, or opens its list or parent project. On a wide tablet layout, the task also opens in the editor pane.

From a Focus List or search result, you can also touch and hold a task and choose Open in List to see it in the list it belongs to.

Quick Open finds names and takes you to a result. Use Search to filter tasks by notes, tags, dates, or other details, or to save a search as a Smart List.
