Widgets
2Do's widgets keep your tasks in view without opening the app. Some answer what to do next, one shows a whole day, and one shows any list you choose. They refresh as tasks change, so completed tasks drop out and counts move on their own.
Adding a Widget
On the home screen:
- Touch and hold an empty part of the home screen until the icons jiggle.
- Tap the Edit button, then Add Widget.
- Find 2Do in the widget gallery.
- Swipe to the size you want and tap Add Widget.
On the lock screen:
- Touch and hold the lock screen, then tap Customize.
- Choose Lock Screen and tap one of the widget areas.
- Pick a 2Do widget from the list.
To change a widget's settings later, touch and hold it and choose Edit Widget.
The Widgets
Current & Up Next
Shows the task you're on now and the one coming up next. It comes as a small home-screen widget, and on the lock screen as a rectangular widget and as an inline widget beside the time.
The widget leads with the task you need next, and the section under it carries whatever else matters: what is running now, what is overdue, or the fact that the day is clear. When there is nothing left it says Free for the day.
Date & Up Next
A medium widget with today's date beside the task coming up next, drawn as a full task row with its list color, checkbox, title, and priority.
Today & Tomorrow
A large widget with your tasks for today and tomorrow, side by side in two columns under their own day headers. Each column holds up to seven tasks and adds a line counting how many more there are. A day with nothing on it says No Tasks.
List
Shows the tasks of one list of your choice, in three home-screen sizes and as a rectangular lock-screen widget. Its options depend on the size:

Today
A medium widget dedicated to your Today list, with today's date beside the tasks on it. There is no list to pick; it is always Today.
Widgets Choose Their Own List
Each widget carries its own configuration, so the list it shows is set on the widget itself rather than anywhere in 2Do's Settings. Add two List widgets and point one at Work and the other at a Smart List, and each keeps its own choice.
Control Center
2Do also adds two buttons to Control Center:
- New Task opens 2Do ready to add a new task.
- Today opens your Today list.
To add one, open Control Center, tap the + at the top left, tap Add a control, and look for 2Do.
Widgets and a Passcode
Widgets sit outside 2Do, where a passcode cannot be entered, so 2Do is deliberate about what they may show:
- Tasks from a password-protected list never appear in a widget, whether or not you have unlocked that list inside the app.
- If Lock everything is on, widgets show your tasks only while Allow Widget access when protected is on. Turn that off and widgets stop showing task content entirely.

Good to Know
- Completed tasks never appear in a widget. A widget always shows what is left.
- Widgets refresh on their own schedule, around upcoming times and at the turn of the day. A change you make in the app appears at the widget's next refresh rather than the same instant.
- If a list a widget points at is deleted or replaced during a sync, the widget matches it by name where it can and otherwise falls back to Today.
Tips
The small Current & Up Next widget answers the one question worth asking at a glance. Put it where your thumb lands and you will open 2Do less often.
Add the rectangular Current & Up Next widget to your lock screen and the inline one beside the clock. Together they tell you what is next without unlocking the phone.
