Printing
2Do prints a formatted copy of your tasks: the list you are looking at, a single task, the tasks you selected in batch editing, or the text of one note. Printing goes through AirPrint, so any printer your iPhone or iPad can reach is available.
Starting a Print
Where you start chooses the top-level tasks. Include Sub-tasks can then add the direct child tasks of any selected project or checklist.
- The list on screen. With a hardware keyboard, press
⌘P. The command sits in the File menu, so on iPadOS 26 you can also reach it from the menu bar at the top of the screen. The top-level tasks currently displayed print in their current section order. Sections holding no tasks are left out. - One task. Touch and hold the task and choose Print... at the bottom of the menu, in the same section as Share. This is available on read-only lists too.
- A selection of tasks. Enter batch editing, select the tasks you want, tap Share in the drawer, and choose Print.... The tasks print under the section headings they came from.
- One note. See Printing a Note below, which takes a different route and prints only the note's text.

Print Options
Each of the first three entry points opens the Print screen, which has two groups of settings:
Options
- Include Sub-tasks: print the tasks inside each project and checklist, indented under their parent.
- Include Notes: print each task's note under its title.
- Include Tags: print each task's tags.
Font Size
- Small, Normal, or Large.
All three switches start on and the font size starts at Normal. Tap Print to go on to the system print screen, or Cancel to stop.
On iPhone and other compact-width layouts, the options arrive as a sheet at half height, which you can drag up to full height. In a regular-width iPad layout, they arrive as a small card centered over your tasks.
The system print screen follows, where you pick an AirPrint printer, set its options, and print. In a compact-width layout it covers the screen. In a regular-width iPad layout it opens as a popover over the task list. The job takes the name of the task, project, or list you printed, so you can pick it out in the printer queue.
What Prints
The printed page follows the list on screen:
- Tasks stay under their section headings, and each heading carries the number of top-level tasks in that section. An overdue section's heading prints in the overdue color.
- Each task prints with a checkbox, its title, and a color bar for the list it belongs to. Projects and checklists print a square checkbox showing the number of open child tasks when at least one remains, and repeating tasks carry a repeat symbol.
- Start and due dates print as real dates rather than as Today or Tomorrow, because a printed page is read later. A task's duration prints beside them.
- Stars print as a star and priority prints as one, two, or three colored bars at the right of the row.
- Completed tasks print with a tick and their title struck through.
- Locations print under the title, and so do notes when Include Notes is on. Markdown in a note prints as formatted text.
- The page ends with the date and time you printed it.
Sub-tasks print whether or not they are scheduled or paused. Completed sub-tasks print only while 2Do is showing completed tasks.
Printing a Note
A note prints on its own, without the task list around it. Open the task, open its Notes card, and choose Print from the options menu in the card's top bar. The note prints as plain text after outer whitespace is removed. The print job takes the task's title, or Notes if the task has no title. The command is unavailable while the note is empty, and available on read-only lists because printing changes nothing.

Tips
Printing the list on screen uses its current search, list, and filter as the top-level scope, so narrow it first. A search, a Smart List, or the Focus Filter gives you a shorter page than printing everything and crossing things out.
For a checklist to carry with you, turn Include Notes off and leave Include Sub-tasks on. You get the tasks and their sub-tasks with nothing else competing for the page.
