Actions

Most task managers stop at "I'll remind you about this thing." 2Do goes further: every task can carry an Action that turns the task itself into something you can do in one tap.

Adding an Action

Open a task and tap the Action field. Pick a type:

  • Call — places a phone call.
  • Message — opens Messages (SMS / iMessage) with the contact pre-filled.
  • Mail — opens Mail with a new email pre-addressed.
  • Visit — opens an address in Apple Maps for navigation.
  • Browse — opens a URL in Safari (or your default browser).
  • Google — runs a web search using the task title. For Call, Message, and Mail actions you can pick a contact directly from your iOS Contacts.

Call, Message, Mail, and Visit

Picking a contact-driven action — Call, Message, or Mail — opens a sheet where you can pull a number or address straight from your iOS Contacts. Visit (address) works the same way for navigation.

Performing an Action

A task with an action shows an action button on its row. Tap it and 2Do does the thing. You can also perform from the tap-and-hold popup → Perform Action, or from the editor's action field.

Google (Search) Actions

The Google action uses the task title as the search query. So a task titled Best lasagna recipe runs that exact search when you tap the action button.

Combining with Locations

A task can carry both a Location and an Action. Common pattern:

  • Location: Home Depot, 123 Main St
  • Action: Visit pointing at the same address
  • Tag: @errands The task surfaces in the Nearby panel when you're close, optionally fires an arrive Alert, and the action button gives you turn-by-turn directions when you tap it.

Tips

tip

Use Google actions for ongoing research tasks. One tap runs the search with the task title as the query — no typing needed.

tip

Mail actions open Mail with the recipient set but the body empty. Copy-paste from the task notes if you want context.
