Siri and Shortcuts

2Do supports Siri and the Shortcuts app directly. You can ask Siri to add tasks or find recent tasks, save Siri shortcuts for specific lists and searches, and build Shortcuts workflows with 2Do actions or URL schemes.

Capturing with Siri

Open Settings > Siri in 2Do and enable Siri. Then speak naturally while mentioning 2Do:

• "Add buy milk in 2Do."
• "Add task in 2Do: call Sam tomorrow at 3pm."
• "Find tasks in 2Do."
• "Complete task in 2Do." Siri can add tasks to 2Do and search for recently created tasks. To make Siri add new tasks to the Inbox by default, enable the GTD Inbox option under Settings > Default Collection List. You can review Siri and Default Collection List behavior in Settings.

If Siri access is denied, open iOS Settings > Siri & Search > 2Do and allow Siri for 2Do.

Naming Lists for Siri

Siri matches list names. If you ask it to add something to Errands, 2Do needs a real list called Errands. Avoid using Focus List names like Today as capture destinations — Siri can treat those words as date hints.

iOS Shortcuts

The Shortcuts app can drive 2Do via:

• 2Do actions — built-in actions such as Quick Add, Find Tasks, and Complete Task.
• Saved Siri shortcuts — from supported lists and searches inside 2Do.
• URL schemes — direct task creation that bypasses Reminders.

Example Shortcut

Capture clipboard text into your Inbox:

1. Get Clipboard.
2. URL Encode.
3. Open URL with twodo://x-callback-url/add?task=<encoded>&forlist=Inbox.

URL Schemes

The 2Do scheme is twodo://. It can create tasks, open lists, jump to Focus Lists, run searches, and return task identifiers to Shortcuts.

Spotlight

When 2Do is installed, your tasks (titles and notes) are indexed by Spotlight on iOS. Pull down on the home screen, type a task title, and tap the result to jump straight to it.

Build a "Triage Inbox" Shortcut that opens 2Do at the Inbox view. Add it to your home screen — one tap from anywhere.

Pair Quick Add, Siri, and Email-to-2Do for low-friction capture pipes. Use Inbox as the default triage point, or let Email-to-2Do subject keywords send captured tasks to an existing list.
