Connect your Todoist account to manage the same tasks in either app, subject to the sync limitations below.

Connect 2Do to your Todoist account (Settings > Sync > Setup → Todoist) to sync projects, tasks, sub-task hierarchy, tags, due dates, durations, and stars, plus sections on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Task Sections and Apple Intelligence
On Mac, iPhone, and iPad, divide a regular list or the Inbox into named sections, such as Bookings and Packing in a trip list. Arrange sections in the order you want; tasks within each section follow the list's sort.
Auto-Create Sections uses Apple Intelligence to organize selected unfinished tasks or all unfinished, unsectioned tasks in a list. It reuses suitable existing sections and creates new ones where needed. Auto-Name Section names an existing section from its task titles. Both commands run on your device; organizing tasks also considers existing section names. They require a supported Mac, iPhone, or iPad running macOS 26, iOS 26, or iPadOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence enabled. See sections and Apple Intelligence.
2Do also uses Apple Intelligence to set priorities for selected tasks with Auto-Prioritize, available on Mac and iPhone and iPad under the same device and OS requirements.
Todoist supports sections inside projects, and Todoist Assist provides AI tools for tasks, filters, and email. In 2Do, the section commands work directly on existing task titles. Section names, order, and task membership sync with Todoist; descriptions stay in 2Do.

Where Todoist May Be Better
- You collaborate. Shared projects, assignees, and comment threads are what Todoist is built for; 2Do shares individual lists over Wi-Fi, which suits households more than teams.
- You use the web, Windows, Linux, Android, or a smartwatch and want the same app on those platforms.
- Todoist's title parsing covers a few things 2Do's does not: ordinal repeats with an end condition such as
every 3rd friday until dec, a{deadline}alongside the scheduled date, and a+assignee. - You want a capable free plan before paying anything.
- You use integrations such as calendar feeds, Gmail and Slack add-ons, a public API, or ready-made templates.
- Karma points, streaks, and productivity trends keep you motivated.
Where 2Do May Be Better
- Set start dates and times as well as due dates, and use Smart Scheduling to hide tasks until their start date. Todoist can pair a scheduled date with a separate date-only deadline on paid plans.
- Repeating tasks keep the same start and due times and the interval between them. Projects and checklists reset their sub-tasks for each occurrence, and edits can apply to one occurrence or all future ones.
- You can set several alarms on one task with repeat sounds that continue until you act, 2Do's own alarm window, and per-list silencing.
- Attachments live on the task itself, where you can snap a picture or record audio, rather than in a comment thread.
- Attach a Call, Message, Email, Visit, or Browse action to a task and perform it with one click, or with the
Pkey. - Find and organize tasks with Smart Lists, a dozen per-list sort options, a one-click Focus Filter, and tag filters with AND / OR / NOT.
- 2Do works offline without an account. You can back up locally and restore individual lists, protect lists with a password and Touch ID, and exclude chosen lists from sync.
- Choose your sync service: Dropbox, iCloud CalDAV, CalDAV, Apple Reminders, Toodledo, or Todoist itself.
- Siri works with 2Do directly: add, find, and complete tasks with its supported Siri commands, and on iOS 27 and macOS 27 describe changes in your own words. Tasks added to Reminders from an Apple Watch, CarPlay, or HomePod can sync to 2Do through two-way Reminders sync.
- 2Do's Siri support covers the Mac as well as iPhone and iPad. Todoist's own help says Siri is not available with Todoist on macOS, the Apple Watch, or CarPlay, including the new Siri AI features.
