Task time estimate field

Wish list:

Is it at all feasible to include a task field for an estimated time that a task is estimated to take, say in .x hrs increments, and have the ability to aggregate those time estimates in filtered views -- e.g. to get a list or view showing those tasks scheduled for next 7 days that add up to 68 hrs!! Indicating an urgent need to re-prioritize something!!

I'm currently including time estimate in the memo field, but that obviously can't be "operated" on.

A time estimate field would be really useful to me too for the same reason. Although, I'd prefer first to have a more generic "Effort" floating point field which may or may not correspond to any particular unit of time.
