We know by now that drives fail and phones get lost, but your tasks should always be there when you need them.


Here are many ways you can choose to backup your ToDos from 2Do, iCal & Outlook on a regular basis so you may restore them easily if anything bad happens.


The first way is also the best way to migrate your setup from 2Do Lite to the full version:

Get the Sync Helper

  1. Launch 2Do


  1. Go to the Sync view (Backup view in 2Do Lite)


  1. Tap the Backup button on the top right corner (in the full version)


  1. Ensure 2Do and your computer are on the same Wifi network


  1. Turn the Web Server ON


  1. Launch your favorite web browser on your computer

2- Backup & Restore iCal


  1. Visit the top displayed URL in the backup screen from your browser (Win / Linux) or visit any of them from your Mac


  1. To Backup: Right-click on “2do.db” and save the file as “2do.db” to your computer


  1. To Restore: Click “Choose File” to select any previously downloaded 2Do database then click “Submit”. It will be uploaded instantly


  1. Relaunch 2Do immediately even if no changes were made


  1. To Backup: Click the ToDo Helper Menu > Backups > Backup iCal


  1. To Restore: Click the ToDo Helper Menu > Backups > Show Backup Folder, in the newly opened finder window double click the latest iCal backup file to restore it.

3- Backup & Restore Outlook

  1. To Backup: Launch Outlook


  1. Go to the Outlook File Menu > Import and Export


  1. In the assistant window: select “Export to a File” then click “Next”


  1. Select “Personal Folder File (.pst)” then click “Next”


  1. Select the “Tasks” folder and ensure “Include subfolders” is checked then click “Next”


  1. Select a location on your computer to save the file to then click “Finish”


  1. To Restore: Launch Outlook


  1. Go to the Outlook File Menu > Import and Export


  1. Select your tasks backup folder and click Import
